TV Mounting Over a Fireplace

A TV above the fireplace can work well when the heat, height and wall material are checked first. We look at how your fireplace is used, how high the screen will sit, and what the wall is made of before any drilling starts.

What is included

  • Heat and height assessment
  • Masonry anchors for brick, stone or concrete
  • Tilt or full-motion bracket options
  • Cable routing plan
  • Tested and leveled install
  • 1-year workmanship warranty

How it works

  1. Measure the mantle, the firebox and your seating distance.
  2. Check surface temperature risk and manufacturer limits.
  3. Anchor the bracket into the right material.
  4. Mount, tilt and level the TV for a comfortable angle.
  5. Hide or tidy the cables.

Price

Masonry installs add $75. A tilt bracket is $30 and full-motion is $130. Tile is quoted on site. See full pricing →

Questions

Is it OK to put a TV above a working fireplace?

It depends on the heat the mantle gets. We will ask how you use the fireplace, and we will tell you plainly if a different spot is the better choice.

Will a tilt mount help?

Over a fireplace the screen sits high, so a tilt or full-motion bracket usually makes it much more comfortable to watch.

Can you drill into stone or brick?

Yes. Masonry installs use proper bits and anchors. Tile is quoted on site because it can crack.
